Lesvos Trail 2024

Established in 2016 with the support of the Local Development Company of Lesvos and other associations, Lesvos Trail is a series of international mountain trail races that take place annually with the aim of fostering athleticism and promoting the unparalleled natural beauty of the island. This year, it is to be held on Sunday, the 26th of May 2024, starting at Lepetymnos village.

The most prestigious race of the event is Lesvos Trail 15km, which is addressed to experienced athletes and mountain trail enthusiasts seeking to challenge themselves in a picturesque location amid the peaks of Mount Lepetymnos. Starting on the northeastern side of the mountain, it initially follows the road that leads to Molyvos. Old cobblestone paths pass through verdant plane forests, olive groves, walnut trees, and oaks, while the route affords stunning views of the canal stretching between Lesvos and Turkey. Though the paths are mostly well-preserved, participants are strongly advised to watch their footing due to the inclination of the ground. The race ends at an altitude of 760 meters above sea level.

The event also comprises the Lepetymnos Run 6km, which is of the same intensity but of shorter duration. At the same time, there is a children’s race called Lepetymnos Run Kids 1km, which promises unique and unforgettable moments for the whole family.
