Syros Galissas beach

General information

The beach of Galissas in Syros is a long beautiful shore filled with soft golden sand! It is a popular Blue-Flag beach due to its gorgeous coast and crystal-clear waters, while its shallow seabed makes it a wonderful option for families with young children! Galissas Beach provides its visitors with fascinating sunset views during the late afternoon hours!

Most of Galissas Beach is well-organized, featuring lots of sun lounger pairs and sun umbrellas for rent, as well as some public umbrellas! Also, the beach has several beach amenities, including beach bars, a lifeguard tower, a rinse shower, kids’ playground facilities, and a few changing booths! Last but not least, a good part of the shore still remains without on-the-beach facilities, providing plenty of space for bathers under the shade of tamarisk trees!

    Great for windsurfing
I love windsurfing and the only beach proper to practise it on Syros is Galissas. Of course, it gets very popular but if you go early in the morning or late in the evening, it is less crowded and you will not fear to harm someone while on your board. The sea is warm and clean and afetr bath, you can sit at the taverns and enjoy your meal. Not far from Ermoupolis and easy to go. The road there is OK but you have to leave the car at a parking area and then walk a little to the beach.
