Christiana Restaurant is located on the waterfront of Ampelas beach, a small fishing village in the northern part of Paros. The small beach has a quaint harbor where tiny fishing boats anchor. The seaside is dotted with numerous taverns and restaurants and Christiana is one of them. A charming terraced eatery that stretches towards the waters, the Christiana is basically an ouzo restaurant that keeps its doors open all day long from early morning to late evening. Starting with coffee and breakfast, the restaurant goes on to serve tasty Greek dishes for lunch and dinner. Some of the local specialties that are part of the Christiana menu include gouna, which is sun-dried roasted mackerel. The fish is opened and dried in the sun with herbs and then seasoned and grilled. The dish makes a great meze (appetizer) and it is best washed down with glasses of ouzo. Another local delicacy is Karavalous, boiled snails in a delicious garlic sauce. There are also a variety of dishes made from fresh sea food, like octopus, squids and lobsters bearing a distinct taste of the island cuisine. Mizithra, a white cheese prepared from goat milk, is widely used to make salads, pasta and meat dishes, instead of feta, the commonly used Greek cheese. Petimezinia and pumpkin pie are two of the popular desserts served at Christiana. The pricing is moderate and suits a range of budgets. The restaurant is about 5 kilometers from Naoussa.
