Folktale and Storytelling Festival 2013

Jul 20, 2013 — Jul 28, 2013 • Category: Events
For 11th year on the row, a roll of myths and fairytales will be unfolded from July 20th to 28th, 2013, on the island of Kea. The heroes of the fairytales will come out from the four ancient towns of the island (Karthea, Poiessa, Korissos and Ioulida) and will stretch in the squares, the hiking paths, the threshing floors and the springs of Kea, narrating stories from the Wisdom of the World.

Thirty-three narrators, representatives of five international festivals, will meet and narrate stories altogether. Narrators, writers, musicians and artists from Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Sweden, Polland, the UK, Turkey and Albania, will come to Kea to celebrate fairytales. During the festival, there will be book presentations, workshops of narration and speech for adults and workshops of artistic expression for children.

Apart from Greek, some narrations will also take place in foreign languages, including English, Italian and Swedish. The entrance to all events is free.
