Heraklion: Tymbaki Heraklion

Crete Tymbaki Heraklion: Tymbaki is a small beach with pebbles on the shore, placed on the south coast of Crete, about 67 km from Heraklion and 3 km from Tymbaki village. The beach is also known as Kokkinos Pyrgos. There is a small harbour by the beach to moor the fishing boats.

Tymbaki beach is not as popular as the nearby Matala and Agia Galini beaches. It is usually affected by the winds, so there are big waves. However, this also has a good point, because the high temperature cools down.
