Red Bull Boat Race at Chania old port

A special rowing race, the Red Bull Varkada, is taking place on June 28th, 2014, at the Venetian (old) Harbor of Chania Town, Crete, offering a spectacular show to all participants and the audience. Sixty ambitious paddlers of all levels, both professional and amateurs, are competing with their sole weapons: their technique and a traditional boat with a pair of wooden paddles, provided by the organizing committee.

Online registration for the first 40 places ended a couple of days ago, but there are 20 more places available to register on the day of the Race, at the Red Bull rent at the Venetian Port. All participants will be competing that day in 4 preliminary races of 15 seats, in a specific route within the harbor. The first 3 winners of each preliminary race will compete at the Grand Final.
