Hydra Trail Event 2015

On the weekend of April 4th and 5th, 2015, the Municipality of Hydra welcomes runners from all around the world to Hydra Trail Event, which includes the first downhill race in Greece. Hydra is a popular island in the Saronic Gulf, close to Athens, with unique architecture and cosmopolitan character.
Life in Hydra keeps a traditional pace and walking is the most usual way to get around, as motor vehicles are not allowed at all there. That is why this race matches perfectly with the character of the island. Runners will get to see the stunning Mediterranean view and pass through charming cobblestone streets and rural roads full of pine trees and blossomed flowers.
There are a lot of races in this weekend schedule, including Mountain Trail Races of 25.6km and 7.5km, a 5km Run and Fun Race and a 1300m Race for Kids. The 1st downhill 3.9km race takes place on Saturday, April 4th, along with the Run and Fun race and the Kids Race.
The long distance Mountain Trail Race of 25.6km, called Eros as is the tallest mountain peak of the island, and the Rock Race, a route of 7.5km, are taking place on Sunday, April 5th. Participants are rewarded with a participation diploma, a commemorative medal and a race bag. Registrations are open until Wednesday, April 1st, 2015.
