Grease to Greece

Aug 16, 2008 — Aug 30, 2008 • Category: Events
Chip fat and cooking oil will fuel an environmentally friendly Grease to Greece motor rally this summer. Londoner Andy Pag will head a team of 30 cars traveling from the UK to Greece through Germany, Austria to the Adriatic coast powered only by chip fat and cooking oil.
The challenge for participants is to "Fat-Find" their way from the UK to the Mediterranean without fossil fuels, and an award awaits those that make it without resorting to filling stations. The real point of the trip -apart from "having a bit of a laugh"- is to find out if using waste vegetable oil is practical for long distances. The trip is scheduled for 16 August and is going to last for 2 weeks.
