Visit the workshop of Miro

Sep 05, 2009 — Feb 05, 2010 • Category: Events
A faith copy of the workshop of Joan Miro, the famous Spanish painter, was set up these days in the courtyard space of Teloglion Foundation of Arts in Thessaloniki, in the frame of this first big exposure of the works that the painter created mostly in his maturity. This exhibition that is entitled Joan Miro de Majorca was inaugurated on September 5th by the Queen of Spain Sophia and it will last till February, 5th. The exhibits come from the Institution Pilar and Joan Miro of Majorca. Including more than 400 pieces of work (drawing, sculptural, engravings, drawings, sketches, etc), this exhibition covers mainly the period at which Miro lived and worked in Majorca. What most impresses is the decision of the organizers to rebuild the workshop of the famous painter there based on the original workshop designed by the architect and friend of Miro, Giozef Lioyis Sert, in 1956. After Thessaloniki, the exhibition will be transported in Athens (March- June 2010).
