Thessaloniki Piano Festival 2024
The 11th annual Thessaloniki Piano Festival will help spread the sounds of classical piano through the help of revered piano experts to all of its attendants in various spots of Thessaloniki from the 30th of March until the 13th of April 2024!
Since 2012, the festival has hosted a plethora of events in order to encourage artistic creation and uplift the younger generations of amateur and experienced musicians! This rendition of Thessaloniki’s Piano Festival will feature four grand recitals, including tributes to the genius of Frédéric Chopin and late Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis! The masterful Nikos Laoris will present the minimalist structures of John Cage and Erik Satie, whilst Stavros Lantsias will show off his very own creations along with famous pieces from Italian film scorer Ennio Morricone and jazz legend Chick Corea!
In addition, the festival will showcase an array of piano masterclasses from professional virtuoso musicians, namely Lenio Liatsou, Christos Noulis, and Domna Evnouhidou! Plus, the event’s last two days will host two double-piano concertos featuring a collage of classical arrangements from Mozart, Béla Bartók, Francis Poulenc, and the well-known Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns, as well as a couple of small concertino compositions from Nikos Skalkotas and Christos Papageorgiou!
