How to get to Paxi?

You can reach Paxi by ferry either from Corfu or from Igoumenitsa. The trip from Corfu to Paxi lasts 30 minutes and it is carried out by a hydrofoil ferry. On the other hand, ferries that depart from Igoumenitsa for Paxi are larger and they can transfer vehicles, too. In this case, the trip lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.

There is no airport on the small island of Mathraki. The closest one is located in Corfu.
Corfu International Airport "Ioannis Kapodistrias" receives all-year-round flights from Athens, Preveza and Thessaloniki and from some European countries, too. The air traffic peaks during summer and the airport becomes busier. The airport is located about 3 km away from Corfu Town, which you can reach either by public bus or by taking a taxi, in order to embark on the ferry to Paxi. There is a bus station close to the airport's entrance.
