Riganada is an event that takes place every summer in the square of Karya, Lefkada from 1984 to date and is based on traditional food of mountainous Lefkada.
Riganada is made from dry bread, which is soaked in water, wrung well and then is added to it a lot of oregano, oil, sea salt, and vinegar. It is usually accompanied by olives, salted sardines, and garlic.
During the celebration, Riganada is prepared on the spot and then it is offered to visitors along with local wine, followed by a traditional feast with live music.
