Issos Corfu: Issos is a beautiful beach located 28.5 km southern of Corfu. The endless seashore with the unique sand dunes and the crystalline waters offers an ideal destination for families. The rich flora divides the shore from the most important wetland of Corfu, the Korission Lake.
This idyllic area is definitely one of the best places to visit in Corfu. Along the sandy beach lie plenty of tourist facilities and various beach equipment. There is also a lifeguard tower and a watersports center. Issos is affected by the strong winds and it is probably the best place for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
The lush green forest and the lake make a unique spot for hiking while the high sand dunes offer excellent sunset views. At a close distance, there are bars and taverns.
There are many different ways to get to Issos from any location on the island.
Airport to Issos: 27.4 km / 17 miles | New Port to Issos: 30 km / 18.6 miles | Corfu Town to Issos: 28.5 km / 17.7 miles
Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked Corfu transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from the airport, port or your hotel. Alternatively, there’s the option of arranging a pickup by a local driver directly at the following numbers: 0030 26610 39911, 0030 694 5452 338, 0030 697 3372 289 or book your taxi online.
Car rental: Τhere’s the option of renting a car in Corfu with as little as 12 euros per day and pick it up directly from the airport, port or your hotel. Using a car rental allows visitors to discover Issos and many other places of interest in Corfu at their own pace.
By Public transfers: The central bus station of the island is located at Corfu Town. There are few buses from Corfu Town to Issos during the day. Consider that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here.
Tip: Since buses don’t always stop in every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination, so that he makes a stop there.
