Windsurfers' World, located in the bay of Ixia, on the west coast of Rhodes, is counted among the top class surfing destinations in the Aegean. The center has been in operation for nearly three decades, and itis renowned among the surfing community for its steady cross-shore winds.
The center covers an area of over 400 square meters, and it is suited for surfers of all ages and skill levels. The water is flat in the morning, but towards noon, wind speeds pick up and by afternoon, the winds create huge swells and transform the area into a hot spot for freestylers and racers.
A wide range of up- to- date equipment from JP Neil Pryde and North, combined with top coaching provided by qualified instructors and modern teaching techniques turn learning at the center into a valuable experience. The Windsurfer world facility also operates Rhodes "Air-Rider" kite surfing centre on a long stretch of clear shoreline in Kremasti, located on the west side of the island.
In recent times, Kiteboarding has grown in popularity, and the freedom of jumping up to 30feet off the water, without the help of a wave platform, is a challenge that few water sports enthusiasts can resist. Wind and water conditions are optimum for kite surfing from March through November, and the center provides the latest range of kites and boards from North Kiteboarding.
