Revival of Old Rhodes

Sep 05, 2008 — Sep 07, 2008 • Category: Events

From 5 to 7 of September, at the Springs of Kallithea, you will meet a traditional village where traditions and customs from old times are coming back to life. Plenty free wine and a variety of traditional Greek delicacies and sweets at a setting made of rock, wood and rod and seasonable costumes.
The place is transforming into the scenery of a village square of the early 20th century when the traditional crafts and habitudes revive with the accompaniment of live Greek music. The threshing floor, the vaulty stove, the cooking, the weaver, the little monastery, the traditional utensils and even more the old wine-press for those who wish to participate to the must production, all will reproduce the cosy atmosphere of the old traditional village now vanished...
You will also see: The sheepfold, the horses and donkeys that could take you for a trot, the gramps and granny telling stories and outdoor games for the children to play, the traditional coffeehouse, local recipes, the peddlers, the monk painting holy icons, a band with traditional organs and many more...
