Scientists certify the cleaness of Santorini beaches
• Category: News
According to a scientific research published by the Greek newspaper Eleftherotypia, the beaches of Santorini are included among the cleanest in the Mediterranean Sea.
A group of scientists used a pioneer way to measure the pollution of the Greek Seas. They released clams in the bottom of the seas and left them there for three months. It is known that clams have a special ability to filter the sea water and hold the polluted substances in their body. In this natural way, scientists figured out that the beaches around Santorini are pure clean.
Of equal quality and cleaness are the beaches of Corfu, Zakynthos, Nafplion, Messenia, Kythira, Naxos, Samos, Kos, Rhodes and Lesvos.
