9th Conference on Technology Policy & Innovation

Jun 18, 2006 — Jun 21, 2006 • Category: Events
From Sunday, 18th of June to Wednesday, 21st of June, 2006 the island of Santorini in Greece will host the 9th International Conference on Technology Policy and Innovation (ICTPI). Science, Society and Sustainability will be the theme of the conference and was selected based on the reaction to these three factors at the recent national Technology Foresight (TF) exercise in Greece, 2001-2021. The exercise had determined that the three factors and their interaction were decidedly critical for the development of knowledge based economy and society. Chairman during the conference will be David Gibson, from the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas in Austin, USA. The conference Coordinator is Emmanuel G. Koukios, Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. The venue for the meeting will be the Petros M. Nomikos Conference centre, in the capital of Fira. Located just 15 minutes away from the local airport, it overlooks the caldera of the Santorini volcano. The Conference will begin late afternoon on Sunday, 18 June 2006 with an opening ceremony and introduction, going on for the following two days. Finally, it will commence with another plenary session on the theme and a broader discussion and conclusion on Wednesday morning, 21 June 2006.
