Literary Translation Award is now in its second year and is accepting literary translations into Greek from English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, which were published in 2007. The award is offered jointly by the European Translation Center (EKEMEL) and five foreign institutes in Athens: the British Council, the Goethe Institute, the Cervantes Institute, the French Institute and the Italian Cultural Institute.
Distinct committees, for each language, comprising of a representative of EKEMEL, a representative of the related institute, a translator, a writer and a literary critic shall consider novels, short stories, poetry and plays for the prize.
The five winning translators, one from each language, will receive a cash prize of 3,000 Euros and a month's stay at the House of Literature at Lefkes on the island of Paros. During the International Translation Day celebrations in September 2008, the winners will be announced.

Submit your applications to EKEMEL (2 Lykavittou, 10671, Athens) by February 29, 2008. For application forms and more information you can visit the EKEMEL website at: www.ekemel.gr.
