Need to renovate the airport

• Category: News
The MP of Cyclades, Mr Giannis Vroutsis asked the Greek Minister of Transportation to reconstruct and renovate the airport on the island of Milos, so that its competence will be increased. Although Milos is one of the most popular Greek islands and receive thousands of tourists every summer, it still doesn't have a proper airport to serve is visitors. In particular, the airport is small and can't receive direct, charter flights, which would probably increase the number of tourists on the island, benefiting thus not only the local but also the national economy. Moreover, a more modern airport would facilitate the needs of the permanent residents, as the ferry connection between their island and the port of Piraeus, to the south of Athens, gets sometimes long and difficult, especially in winter, when most ferry companies go on strike and winds blow strong over the Aegean.
