Jul 03, 2011 — Sep 25, 2011 • Category: Events

The exhibition Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas, the Timeless Contemporary, was inaugurated at the Goulandris Museum of Modern Art in Andros Cyclades, on Sunday July 3rd. The tribute to this notable artist who has made innumerable contributions to the contemporary cultural tradition comprises 100 exhibits: 71 paintings, 21 drawings and 12 sculptures. All the exhibits are taken from museums, foundations and private collections.

This tribute aims to promote the virtues of the artist and his influences through the selected art works, whilst it also traces the intentional way that the artist achieves to match and reconcile his European influences with the Greek spirit. Moreover, the exhibition will include documentaries and films for the life and work of the artist. In August daily tours will take place at the museum as well as educational programs for children aged 6 to 13. The exhibition will last till September 25th.
