In this lovely seaside town of Ermioni Peloponnese, it is a pleasure visiting the Folklore Museum, an ideal place to meet the local tradition and the cultural wealth of the region. The museum is accommodated in a characteristic local house of Ermioni that relates to the Greek revolution. It is located in Kranidi area, close to the city center. The permanent exhibition includes various items, costumes, furniture and a great photo archive presenting the traditional scenes from Ermioni, the town in Peloponnese.
The Archaeological Museum of Nafplion hosts a wide selection of findings that were discovered in the ancient town of Ermioni. Family tombs from the Hellenistic and Classical period are also on display there. However, visitors who choose to stay in Ermioni will see the historical sites which are scattered in the area and bear witness to the ancient civilization that flourished in Ermioni. Close to the town is Dokos islet where many underwater excavations have brought to light ancient anchors and other findings from the oldest known shipwreck in the world.
