Matala Music Festival

Matala Music Festival in Crete will become again the paradise for all those who seek a unique fun pastime in the summer. From the 17th to the 19th of June, Matala beach will be flooded from the live tunes of Greek and foreign artists who will be there by the sea to give their best for the faithful audience.
The famous Matala area of Crete is the place where the movement of the Hippies grew and developed back in the two decades of the 60’s and 70’s. Members of this evolving and revolutionary wave from the US and the UK arrived in Crete and established in the caves of Matala for weeks, months and even years. Through this “hippie-trail”, hippies had not only managed to show an alternative way of living but also to motivate more and more people to join them and share the pacifistic and love messages that they carried with them resulting in it bringing a great change in the world.
This year, the festival will be inviting many vibrant bands such as the loud Koza Mostra, Filippos Pliatsikas, Alone Together and Onirama. Many more parallel events and kids happenings will be announced soon. You can reach matala either by boat or by car and navigation in Crete is generally easy. You should not miss the chance to explore the amazing beach of Matala along with some tunes from renowned musicians.
