Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival 2024

A showcase for interesting documentaries, out-of-the-ordinary films, and events for directors and cinephiles, the 26th annual Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival will take place in the city center from the 7th to the 17th of March 2024!

This year’s Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival will host the online or in-house premiers of hundreds of movies from Greece and the rest of the globe! Offering prizes of up to 12000 euros, the three main screening competitions are the Feature Length International Competition (hosting films with a total length of over 70 minutes), the Newcomers International Competition for first or second-time movie directors (with a runtime of over 50 minutes), and the Film Forward International Competition for new and experimental methods of film-making (featuring films with a running time of at least 45 minutes)!

The festival will also include the Immersive: All around cinema International Competition section, hosting brand-new virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR) documentary projects! In additiom, the Agora section will again have the Agora Doc Market, a meeting spot for movie producers, directors, and film lovers, as well as the Agora Lab, a workshop aiming to educate and help young film creators forge their path!
