Zakynthos Solomos Museum

The Museum of Solomos, Kalvos and other Eminent Personalities of Zakynthos, Greece Ionian: The Museum of Dionysios Solomos, Andreas Kalvos and other Eminent Personalities of Zakynthos is located in a Neoclassical building in the square of Saint Mark, Zante Town. The ground floor of the building works as a mausoleum and hosts since 1968 the bones of the National Greek Poet, Dionysios Solomos, as well as the bones of poet Andreas Kalvos and his wife.

The rooms of this museum host paintings of eminent personalities of Zakynthos, an island with rich culture, personal items, manuscripts, etc. Visitors can also see the statue of Dionysios Solomos made by sculptor Georgios Vroutos in 1902. The rooms of the museum are dedicated to famous scholars from Zakynthos and benefactors.
