It is a pity I didn't know earlier about Paxi. This is a small island only an hour away from Corfu and it impresses you with its colours. Sue and I have just returned from Paxos. We enjoyed the island and the people just as much this year as last. The accommodation, pool & car were 1st rate. This is one of the purest regions in Greece! You will love the cozy beaches, the crystal water and the green landscape around of Paxi. Villages are nice but look a lot to each other. When I think of Paxi, I have in mind the tiny and gorgeous beaches around the island. I especially remember our trip to Antipaxoi island (there are frequent boats to Antipaxoi from Gaios), I think Voutoumi is of the best beaches in Ionian (along with Kathisma and Porto Katsiki beaches on Lefkada).... The island is beautiful, calm and traditional. Nightlife is very quite and beaches are quite good, but not as good as in Antipaxi or Corfu. The best beach for me was the first beach on the left on the way from Loggos to Gaios. What you will not miss in Paxi is Greek food, which is always excellent!... More >

We got the best impressions from Paxi. It is a tiny island and you generally do not need a car to go all around it, except if you want to rent a motorbike.
