Kythira island is directly connected to Piraeus, Athens, and the trip takes about 6 hours. The ship run the route from Piraeus to Kythira and Antikythira.

You can also go to Kythira from Neapoli, Peloponnese, and the trip takes about 2 hours.

There is also a boat service from Gythio, Peloponnese (2 hours and a half), from Kalamata Peloponesse (3 hours and a half) and from Kastelli, Crete (about 4 hours).

From Kythira, you can go to Antikythira island, if you take the boat from Diakofti. The ride takes about 2 hours.

All these itineraries depart from both the new port of Diakofti and the old port of Agia Pelagia.
