The novel “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” was written by Louis de Bernieres, also the author of “The War of Don Emmanuel’s Nether Parts”, “The Troublesome Offspring of Cardinal Guzman” and “Senor Vivo and the Coca Lord”.
 
The story takes place on Kefalonia during the invasion of Mussolini; an entire village was reconstituted for the movie exactly as it was before the devastating earthquake of 1953.

The novel (and the movie) is a romanced history between an
