Minoan lines ferries

Minoan Lines Maritime Company was created in 1972 and its ships connect Piraeus to Crete and Greece to Italy. In particular, Minoan lines serve the itineraries from Piraeus to Heraklion and from Patras to Igoumenitsa, Corfu, Venice and Ancona. All its ships are built to provide passengers with all the comfort and safety they need when traveling.

About the fleet

H/S/F Festos Palace: It got its name from the archaeological site of Festos, to the south coastline of Crete. It was built in 2001 in Fincianteri, Italy and has the ability to carry 2,190 passengers and 600 vehicles. Its facilities include 2bedroom, 3bedroom and 4bedroom cabins and luxury cabins, room service for the luxury and external 2bedroom cabins, economy and business seats, a reception area, a playground, bars and discos, restaurants, a conference room, TV sets and a cinema, a pool, internet connection, satellite telephone and fax, wake-up calls, boarding escalators, valuables safety area, a kiosk, a commercial centre, facilities for the disabled, pet cabins and medical services.

H/S/F Knossos Palace: This ferry was built in 2000 in Fincianteri, Italy and got its name from the ancient palace of Knossos, near Heraklion, Crete, which was the most important town of Crete in the Minoan times. The ship carries 2,182 passengers and 600 vehicles. Its facilities include 2bedroom, 3bedroom and 4bedroom cabins and luxury cabins, room service for the luxury and external 2bedroom cabins, economy and business seats, a reception area, a playground, bars and discos, restaurants, a conference centre, TV sets and a cinema, video games, slot machines, card games room, a pool, internet connection, satellite telephone and fax, wake-up calls, boarding escalators, valuables safety area, a kiosk, a commercial centre, facilities for the disabled, pet cabins and medical services.

H/S/F Pasiphae Palace: It was built in 1998 in Fosen Mek, Norway and was named after Pasiphae, the wife of Minos, king of Crete. The ship carries 1,500 passengers and 850 vehicles. Its facilities include 2bedroom, 3bedroom and 4bedroom cabins and luxury cabins, room service for the luxury and external 2bedroom cabins, economy and business seats, a reception area, a playground, bars and discos, restaurants, TV sets, slot machines, a pool, internet connection, satellite telephone and fax, wake-up calls, boarding escalators, valuables safety area, a kiosk, a commercial centre, facilities for the disabled, pet cabins, medical services, currency exchange service and the possibility to camp on board, that is that passengers can travel with their caravan or trailers in a specially designed area, where WC, shower and free electricity is provided.

H/S/F Ikarus Palace: This ferry was named after Ikarus, the son of Dedalus, who, according to the myth, managed to fly using wings but got so close to the sun that the warm melted the wax of the wings and the boy fell into the sea. This ship was built in 1998 in Fosen Mek, Norway and has the ability to carry 1,500 passengers and 850 vehicles.
