The watermelon is certainly the king of summer of all fruits in Greece and it is frequently served as a dessert in the Greek taverns. This amazing fruit revitalizes and detoxicates the body. You will also love it as a juice or a cocktail. The sweetest water melons are produced in western Peloponnese. Equally popular is the melon, with the golden colour and the perfect aroma.

Apricots, peaches, nectarines and cherries are also delicious and highly nutritious fruits you can find in Greece. Late August and early September is the season of two other fruits: figs and grapes. Fig trees are very common in Greece, you will see many such trees on the side of the roads. Just unpeel and taste. Grapes are even more popular and almost every garden in the villages or the islands has a vineyard. From these grapes, they make delicious house wine.

Winter fruits in Greece include oranges, mandarins, kiwis and lemons. The most famous citrus trees are produced in Peloponnese, in the regions of Laconia and Crete. They have the most delicious taste and the freshest aroma.
