Lesvos Plomari Village

Plomari village Lesvos: Plomari is the second largest town of Lesvos located 40 km south of Mytilene, the island's capital and main port. Today it counts on 4000 inhabitants most of whom are engaged in tourism and trade. The village is built amphitheatrically amidst lush green hills around the natural bay with stunning view to the Aegean. The entire settlement is quite picturesque with beautiful houses and colourful yards, narrow streets and fine churches. At the small squares around the village lie some traditional taverns and nice cafes under the shade of the trees.

Apart from its natural beauty, Plomari has a rich cultural and musical tradition. The cultural centre usually organized nice local festivities with local dances. Plomari is famous for the production of the excellent local ouzo, and the high-quality olive oil. The village displays a traditional layout where old stone built houses witness the long history of Plomari. Interesting sightseeings and numerous churches built in fabulous locations, on top of the rocks are the main attractions in Plomari. Plenty of accommodations, bars and taverns are available around the village.
