There are also four monasteries situated on the island. No monks are staying there but large scale celebrations take place on special occasions with plenty of food and drinks. |

The Monastery has a chapel inside the cave. This chapel has an icon of Virgin Mary which is double sided with the face of St. Nicholas on its back. This religious place is believed to have been built in 1400 AD and sits on a hill rock.
A 270 step footpath leads the way to the church. The relics kept there include old Bibles, gospels, holy crosses, religious icons and ecclesiastical items.
