is a much quieter than Apollonia,
the village of Artemonas owes its
name to the worship of the goddess
Artemis.
It is a lovely little settlement which
has some of the most beautiful traditional
old mansions of Sifnos of Venetian
and Neoclassical style, surrounded
by verdant gardens.
This charming village is located in
the east-centre of Sifnos and offers
many churches and monasteries to visit
as well as rooms for rent. One can
also find there the best bakeries
of the island which make delicious
traditional sweets.
