celebrated saint, assist to a religious service
and then eat, drink and dance all night long to
the sound of the local traditional instruments (the
lute and the violin).
The most important religious feast takes part on
the eve of the Ascension of the Lord and is the
feast of Panagia Chrysopiyi which gathered the entire
island in a great panigiri (big feast with live
traditional music, drink and local food). |
