The case of Akrotiri site on Santorini

Delays on the examination of the Akrotiri case by the Central Archaeological Council are causing new worries. The archaeological site of Akrotiri, Santorini, and the replacement of its collapsed roof has been under discussion for a long time. However, the Culture Ministry assures that the case is in its final phase regarding the negotiations for the transfer of the work from the authority of the Archeological Society to the Greek Ministry of Education and Culture. "It is a matter of days", say the high members of the Archaeological Society. Despite that, things are not quiet on the island of Santorini, especially among the people working at the excavations. There is also some other information confirming that "the control of the research has not been completed". The Culture Ministry, however, has noted that "the restoration works will begin from September, along with the new research".
