Architecture
in Paros Greece is the typical, traditional Cycladic architecture
which consists of whitewashed cubic houses with flat
roofs and coloured, wooden windows, doors and balconies,
built amphitheatrically, one on the top of the other.
Narrow, labyrinth-like whitewashed streets and steps
are snaking around the houses, leading to the top of
the village where a church usually stands.

This vernacular architecture is due to the rarity of building material and protection from the weather:

this diversity is due to the fact that all the conquerors who ruled the island left an architectural trace after they leaved as in the village of Naoussa
where the Venetian port create a contrast and is mixed
with the traditional Cycladic architecture of the rest
of the lovely, picturesque village.

is to walk among its narrow little streets, letting them
choose your direction, exploring the shapes, shadows
and colours of the lovely little villages. |
