World Sailing Championship in Agios Nikolaos

The 2006 IMS-600 World Sailing Championship will take next summer in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. The event will last from September 9th to September 17th. The ships will start from the Marina of Agios Nikolaos, which is also going to host an exhibition area. The races will take place at Mirabello Bay, as it presents excellent sailing conditions. The World Sailing Championship is very important for Crete as it gives to the island a certain prestige. The event is organized by the Greek Ministry of Tourism Development and the Secretariat General of Sports.
