The prefecture of Lassithi is famous for its Vai Beach which has about 5000 palm trees which are forming, with the azure waters and the golden sand, a unique scenery. The beaches of Istros, Makrigialos and Pahia Ammos are some of the many beautiful beaches embellishing the coasts of Lassithi. On the islet of Hrissi is a superb white sandy beach.
