Starting from Santorini, this week Greek island hopping package continues to two beautiful islands of Cyclades: Milos with the special volcanic geology and Sifnos with the relaxing atmosphere. The common thing about Santorini and Milos is their volcanic background. They both have still active volcanoes. The volcano of Santorini is actually the top of a sunken caldera and boat trips go there from the old port of Fira. On the cliffs of the caldera are picturesque white villages with breathtaking view. The volcano of Milos actually has two craters in the center of the island: the craters of Firiplaka and of Trachilas. Due to the volcanic substance of the ground, both Santorini and Milos have beaches with special geological characteristics. For example, the Red Beach of Santorini is surrounded by red volcanic cliffs, while the coastline of Milos is dotted with se caves and underwater passages. The island of Sifnos does not have such impressive geological features but it is a lovely place for total relaxation. The sandy coasts and the beautiful villages create a nice background for beach and family holidays. Platis Gialos, Faros, Vathy and Kamares are the most beautiful beaches of Sifnos and Kastro is a picturesque Medieval settlement to visit.
