Exhibition for Tsitsanis in Trikala

An exhibition dedicated to Vasilis Tsitsanis, a great composer of the Greek song, will be presented for the next two months by the Municipality of Trikala, his hometown, 20 km east of Meteora. The exhibition is the personal collection of journalist Kostas Chatzidoulis and has been organized with the occasion of the 25 years from the death of Tsitsanis. Although it is currently held in Matsopoulos Mill, the collection will be donated to the municipality to include it in the Tsitsanis Museum, which is about to open soon. This special exhibition presents in a unique way the life of Vasilis Tsitsanis, a composer which was loved by the Greeks and became extremely popular with his songs in the 1950s-1960s. There are information for his first days of his life, important events, the social ambience in which he lived and information on every song he wrote. There are also photographs,manuscripts, musical instruments and partitures. This exhibition is part of a whole of cultural events that the Municipality of Trikala has organized to honour their fellow-countryman.
