Skyros Linaria

General information

Linaria Village: Linaria is a fishing village located 12 km south of Skyros Town. It is the main port of the island with a great tourist activity during the summer. There is also a regular bus service from this village to Chora town. There is always a strong wind blowing in the bay but Linaria is placed somewhat beside the hilly terrain that provides a nice protection from the strong winds. There are many concrete houses and buildings fairly scattered around the harbor.

Around the port, one can find plenty of cafes, bars and some fish taverns with delicious flavours, drinks and other local delicacies from Skyros. Linaria is a picturesque amphitheatric settlement built on the hill slopes providing some splendid views to the sea and teh entire surrounding. Tourists enjoy sailing here and boats depart for the nearby beaches and islands like Alonissos. Inside and around the village you will find a nice selection of accommodations. For swimming you shall visit the attractive beach of Acherounes lying only some steps away from the village.
