Skopelos Glosa Village

Glossa village Skopelos: Glossa is the second major settlement of Skopelos, located 25 km north west of the island's capital. Glossa is built amphitheatrically on the mountain slopes, 250 meters above the sea. It is surrounded with pine forests, almond trees and plane trees.

Glossa charms its visitors with its two-storey whitewashed houses and cute balconies overlooking the sea. At the bottom of the village lies the lovely port where ferries connect the village with the nearby islands and the isolated beaches.

Among the best sightseeings of Glossa is the Monastery of Taxiarhes which lies on a fabulous location amidst pine tree forests. Ruins of Roman baths can be found near the port as well as 4th century BC remains of the citadel of ancient Selinous and ruins of a 5th century temple of Athena. The verdant lovely port offers hotel accommodation, rooms to rent and tasty taverns offering delightful fresh fish.
