Skopelos Stafilos beach

General information

Stafilos beach Skopelos: Stafilos is one of the closest beaches to Skopelos Town. Just 5 km away from the capital, the stunning bay is accessible by local bus or private car. A nice fish tavern welcomes the visitors and some wooden steps lead down to the lovely pebbled bay with fine grey sand and crystal clear waters. It is a really beautiful beach that is also listed among the most incredible beaches in Greece.

Stafilos offers some rental facilities and a nice beach bar with cold drinks and snacks. It is partly organized, meaning that the other half of the beach is totally unspoilt. The beach is actually one of the most popular places for swimming for its crystalline bay and its close proximity to the town. This bay owns its name to the Minoan king Stafilos who was supposed to have disembarked in this lovely cove.

    Put more bins on beaches
Stafilos is probably the most crowded beach on Skopelos. Although there are no beach bars or sport clubs, it gets very busy. It is very close to Skopelos town, where we stayed, and easy to go by bus (we had rented a motorbike, though, to see all of the island). The water was very clean and the environment picturesque. It is actually a short beach under a huge mountain edge. You have to climb down a rough path to go. The authorities, however, should put more bins on the beach because they full up quickly and they don't empty them frequently. It is a shame to leave rubbish on such beautiful beaches.
