New ferry connection to be studied

The Prefecture of Sporades in cooperation with the Prefectures of Thesssaloniki, Pieria and Halkidiki discussed last week the possibility of a ferry line that will connect these areas to each other and will serve the residents and tourists better. It was proposed that flying dolphins could be used, mostly in summer, for the quickest possible service of passengers. Furthermore, the prefects discussed the possibility of mutual help so that the tourism developement in their areas could be increased. A private company has  undertaken the task to study the possibility of such a ferry connection, with the port of Thessaloniki as the departure point of the vessels.
