General information

Plakes Beach is located on the southern edge of Skiathos Town, near the old harbor. The beach is encircled by huge rocks and tall pines creating an enchanting and secluded atmosphere. The striking emerald waters run clear and are usually calm, thus ideal for a relaxing swim. However, due to the rocky nature of the beach, visitors should enter the sea cautiously and be wary of sea urchins.

The coast of Plakes is narrow and visitors have to go down some stairs to get to the beach. Do not expect to find any facilities such as sunbeds and umbrellas, as the rocky shore remains untouched by human activity. However, its proximity to Skiathos Town means the beach is only a short walk away from a vast collection of restaurants, cafes, shops, and accommodations.
