Spetses Dapia Village
Dapia Village Spetses: Dapia is the heart of Spetses Town and is the new harbour of the island, located in a small area and is the latest settlement of the island.
All the business constructions in that district are painted in white and blue, a symbol of the maritime culture of Spetses. A flat wave breaker fortifies the district and protects it from the winds and the wild sea.
The main road is a cobblestone coastal road delimited by two churches that stand on each side of it. There is a square located in the middle of the road, and it is the place where, in the 1820s, the island's seafaring leaders met to organize their revolt against the Turks.
It is also where most of the cafes are gathered. Plateia Roloyiou or Clock Square is located on the eastern side of Dapia, and is where all the tourist shops, restaurants and snack-bars can be found.
On the other side of the district is another square, which is quite small and recognisable from the bust of Bouboulina standing in the centre. Dapia is also where the Spetses Museum can be found and where the Bouboulina Museum is located, housed in the heroine's former home, a typical Spetsiote mansion.
The beautiful Anargyros mansion is also worth seeing for it is one of the finest examples of the early 20th century architecture and is a pure neoclassical marvel that used to be the residence of the benefactor of Spetses, Sotiris Anargyros.
