Traditional Boats

Traditional boats are considered the most picturesque boats of the port.
They operate throughout the tourist season and take visitors to the top three beaches on the western side of the island, i.e. Agia Paraskevi, Agioi Anargiri, and Zogeria.
The itineraries usually start around midday, yet an announcement/timetables board is placed in Dapia for the travelers' convenience.

Water taxis

Water taxis are found in the port (Dapia), along with a price list for their services.
They operate 24/7 between the island and the coast of Kosta (Peloponnese) and can also take you to almost any area on the island or around it (to Porto Heli for example) on request.
To contact the water taxi station call 0030 22890 72072

Horse Carriages

Horse carriages are the trademark of Spetses! This unique way to move around is intertwined with the island and gifts visitors with a romantic experience they will remember forever! Horses are well-fed and taken care of, as their owners perceive them as friends and not a work tool or a tourist attraction.
To enjoy a ride emanating a flair of royalty, you can head to one of the two starting points of the carriages - the port and Poseidonio Square. From the first point depart horse-drawn carriages to the Old Harbor or Agia Marina, while from the second towards Anargyrios and Korgialeneios School.

Bicycles and Motorbikes

Renting a bike or a motorbike in Spetses is one of the most convenient ways to explore the island, as the main road connects several parts of the island.
However, those interested in renting a motorbike should keep in mind that driving regulations are in force on the island, meaning that driving along the seaside roads is prohibited during certain hours.
For more information concerning driving regulations in Spetses, you may contact Spetses Municipality or the local Tourist Police.

• How can I get to my hotel from the port?

Most accommodations in Spetses are located in proximity to the port (Dapia), so if your hotel is in the port's vicinity you can walk to it. Alternatively, you may take a taxi or water taxi to transfer you closer to your destination (which we recommend you do so if you are visiting during summer and carry heavy luggage).

• How can I get to the beaches?

You can get to the beaches via different means of transport. Taking a traditional boat or water taxi is a widely preferred way as they offer a unique experience that allows you to marvel at the charming seascape throughout your journey. A central road connects most of the famous beaches with Spetses town so taking a bus or riding your bicycle or motorbike to reach them is also possible. Alternatively, you can always take a taxi.

• Can I rely on public means of transport?

The only public means of transport that is available on the island is the bus and only during the tourist season (June 15th - September 15th). Buses operate two routes that reach the most popular spots in Spetses, yet itineraries per day usually do not surpass four or five, even in July and August.

• Are the distances between the main town and the touristy spots long?

Spetses is a relatively small island. Many places of interest are located within Spetses Town and Baltiza (Old Harbor) so moving around on foot will most definitely work for you. To reach the stunning beaches on the west side, though, an alternative means of transport, like a traditional boat or a water taxi, is recommended.
