Ferries
Ferries and hydrofoils depart frequently from Piraeus port in Athens for Poros. The difference between them is that ferries are large vessels that can transfer both passengers and vehicles, while hydrofoils are actually small speed boats only for carrying passengers. Moreover, a ferry takes you to Poros in 3 hours, while hydrofoils transfer you to the island within an hour.
Apart from Athens, there is a ferry connection between Poros and some islands of the Saronic Gulf, like Aegina and Spetses.
You can also reach Poros from Galatas, a small port in Peloponnese. The ferry from Galatas transfers you to Poros within 10 minutes and the itineraries are very frequent, as ferries depart almost every 30 minutes.
