The Sea Everywhere until late July

Jun 13, 2015 — Jul 31, 2015 • Category: Events

The painting exhibition The Sea Everywhere by the Greek artist Pavlos Samios is presented until July 31st at the Historical Archives Museum in Hydra. Although the sea holds a permanent role in the pieces of the artist, it is the first time that this is the leading theme in one of his exhibitions.
The element of water made an early appearance in the work of the artist, from his first creative periods. It is very frequent that Samios adds the sea in his work, but this sea appears more like a necessary addition and less than a theme itself. The sea is connected with sentiments, personal experiences, memories or the present of nature in his work. Even when the artist paints his favorite themes, including women, coffee tables, home interiors or couples, there is always an open window to the sea.
In all pieces, the sea is calm, like an open hug that closes all the work of Pavlos Samios. Many of the works presented in the exhibition belong to the personal collection of the artist and are exhibited for the first time to the public.
