Aegina Fistiki Festival 2014

Sep 18, 2014 — Sep 21, 2014 • Category: Events

The 6th Aegina Fistiki Festival will take place from September 18th to September 21st, 2014. This year, the motto of the festival is Earth, Light, Taste, Culture.
Dedicated to the internationally famous Pistachio (Fistiki) of Aegina, a Protected Designation of Origin product with unique taste and quality, this festival is continuously taking place since September 2009 and serves as a major opportunity to promote the local culture of the island with gastronomy events, concerts, seminars, workshops for children, and other activities.
For this year, in particular, apart from the main events that have been scheduled for the festival days, many pre-festival events have started since late August and will continue until middle October, even after the end of the festival.
Many associations, schools, cultural venues and private companies participate in these events that include storytellings, children games, photo and sculpture exhibitions, guided tours in important sights on the island such as the Medieval town of Paleochora, lectures on the history of Aegina, musical concerts, gastronomy seminars with pistachio as the basic product, and many more.
