The Folk Art Museum of Patra Peloponnese: The Museum of Folk Art in Patra was founded in 1977 by the Cultural Centre of Patras, with the main objective of preserving the cultural heritage of the town. The museum exhibits a wide variety of artifacts and other folklore items.
The exhibits consist of many agricultural tools of the rural areas of Patra, as well as furniture and articles of daily use, information about different modes of transport, agricultural products and many handcrafted items that are unique of villages around Patra. Many of the folk concepts and traditions are explained in detail with photos and texts.
The museum also hosts a big library and a photo archive. It organizes debates and lectures concerning the history of Patra in terms of archeology and architecture. Many traditional workrooms are available for hat making, shoemaking or wax making, which attract many students and adults to the museum on a daily basis.
